God help us now, as we bend low

And seek for grace above;

And may He ever to us show

An all-consoling love!

2. And whilst we miss the one that's gone

Unto a better home;

O may our faith, e'en whilst we mourn,

Behold the ransomed one!

3. We know that He who made us weep,

Can give us light once more;

And all our souls in safety keep,

And holy rest restore!

4. To Him, all wise, we bend our will,

Through Jesus Christ, the Son;

And as we hear His ""Peace, be still,""

A splendid trust is won!
