The clothes of love go round and round

In the soapy waters of my heart

But they are never clean of the memories

So I set it back to the start



I've tumbled dried the feelings I've been hiding

And washed my broken dreams in the sink

But nothing removes those heartbreak stains

And it starts to make me think



Maybe one more cycle would ease the pain

I'll set the reds and whites apart

But there's still another load to go

In the washing machine of my heart
